Media Manager

About

Media Manager is a web application concept designed to streamline how video production companies deliver commercial spots to TV stations. Instead of navigating each station’s unique, manual submission process, producers log into a single platform where they can upload finished spots and associated spec sheets, track media status, and manage schedules across clients and campaigns. Station teams get dedicated dashboards for reviewing spots, monitoring production and legal approvals, and seeing daily/weekly air schedules via calendar and list views. Integrated team chat keeps sales, graphics, video, and legal aligned in one place, reducing back‑and‑forth email and making it easier to move each spot from “incomplete” to “ready to air.”

details

Media Manager is a concept web application designed to fix the chaotic way commercial spots are delivered to TV stations. Working closely with a video producer, I mapped the entire workflow—from spec-sheet upload and client onboarding through production, legal, and client review—and translated a very dense process model (the master wireframe) into a clean, role-based interface for both studios and station teams.

On the production side, studios create an account, upload finished spots and spec sheets, and manage all of their clients and media in one place. Each spot moves through a clear status pipeline with color‑coded states (incomplete, in progress, ready to air), detailed progress checklists, and daily/weekly schedule views. Station teams get dashboards for searching clients, creating and archiving spots, viewing air dates by calendar or list, and drilling into each spot’s production and approval history. A built‑in chat panel keeps sales, graphics, video, and legal aligned without email chains or side channels.

My role covered product strategy, complex flow mapping, information architecture, wireframing, and high-fidelity UI design. The goal was to show how a highly complex, multi‑team broadcast workflow could be distilled into an interface that feels approachable and obvious—even for first‑time users—while still supporting the depth required by real-world station operations.
